Back From Never Never Land

Sorry I have been away for so long, I'm really not sure what happened other than Life in general. The move went great and the house is totally the way I want it now. I have done some work in the shop but not as much as I probably should have. I seem to be doing that "Hidie Hole" thing the past couple of months. I hate getting depressed but it happens and I just want to hide under the covers. Oh I get what needs to be done but not much beyond that. I know I should get out more but then I really don't have anywhere to go. Hell just need to snap out of this garbage. The past couple weeks I've been fighting the flu and that certainly doesn't help with the energy levels. Sorry I'm complaining and I don't mean to be.(smacking myself up side the head)

Thanksgiving is rapidly heading our way and soon we all be up to our ears getting ready for it. I have managed to get everything I need, now just have to cook it all next week. It will be a quiet holiday here as it will be just "Husband of Wonder", me and the cats. Husband has been oh reminding me everyday about his Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin bread. Lord that man has a one track mind this time of year, like I could forget to make him his Pumpkin Pie and bread. This will be the norm in my house 30 minutes after dinner.

I have been working on Christmas presents for the kids, hope to have them all finished by the first of December. I'm right in the middle of making this floppy bunny for Samantha's first Christmas. Samantha will be 5 mos at Christmas and she like soft things she can attach herself to and stick in her mouth. We still haven't been able to go East of Mountains and see her and that makes me sad. I so want to hold her!!!!!!!!

A New Beginning

Well the move is completed, keys returned on old Apartment and everything put away in the New Apartment. YAY!!!! We moved into our new place over the Labor Day weekend and now I have all things put away, of course the last room to get finished was the Shop. We had a massive heat wave (for this area) hit us and had record highs for the next 10 days. It would be much easier unpacking and getting things put away if it wasn't so hot. I also had to go back to the old place to finish cleaning there. I'm really getting to old for all this. Now that the Shop is finally together I can start working again. Unpacking the shop was like greeting lots of old friends and finding new treasures I'd forgotten I had. Starting Monday I will be splitting my time between making new pieces for my two shops (http://zibbet.com/baronessbijoutery and http://baronessbijoutery.artfire.com ) and working on Christmas Goodies for the Family.

Well I will be back but right now I'm going to finish up the Laundry and then curl up with my book.

What Day is This?

Any more the days just seem to be running together, I don't know if I am coming, going or already been. I'm sure all of have been there and probably more times than we care to think about.

Right now we are in the process of moving to a new Apartment and how I hate the packing and all that moving brings. It's a really cute little Bungalow right out of the 50's, all brick with a small common courtyard. The new place is not that far from where we are right now (1.3 miles) but the rent is about 240 dollars less a month. In today's economy we have to do what we can to make the money go farther. I am about 3/4's packed in the shop now just have to find the energy to finish that room. Lord I have so many supplies as well as finished pieces I don't know when I will find the bottom of the pit I have dug for myself. One good thing though I have gone through everything in this place and gotten rid of a lot of stuff I wasn't using. I look at whatever is in my hand and if I haven't used it in the past year or more I give it away. No I don't hoard a lot of stuff but I still found things to downsize. If you should see smoke signals in the sky send a rescue unit I'm lost in a sea of boxes.

I have opened a second shop on ArtFire and it will be primarily for Wedding and Evening Jewelry. I have five items up there already and will be adding much more. Unfortunately I have to wait to work on some new pieces till after we get moved the 1st of Sept. I was so pleased to find out this morning that one of my Pieces had been included in this great Collection on ArtFire by Dragonfly Ridge. A Very Special Arrival

This past Wednesday, July 27, at 7:25 pm our Family was blessed with the sweetest New Angel. My wonderful Grandson and his beautiful wife made Husband of Wonder and I Great Grandparents. And yes that means my Brat, FlightFancy, and son-in-law are now Grandparents. We weren't able to be in Eastern Washington for the big event and I so want to hold that baby. So without further ado let me present

Grandma gave Daddy a big hug and Grandpa is sitting there grinning with my daddy and Uncle Quinn. My Auntie Vivian and Auntie Hannah are taking the picture, but you best believe the held me a lot....Boy will I learn a lot from those two.

And boy that is a big hug Gramma is giving Daddy. And I live real real close to Gramma and Grandpa..YAY. Family all around. Well it's time for food and a nice nap.

I never thought I would utter these words but I am really really glad it is Monday. It has been a hectic weekend that is for sure. I'm too old for all this commotion.

Our oldest Granddaughter graduated from College this past Saturday. I am really getting old!!! I'm not sure if there is enough Xanax or Estrogen on this planet to make me feel younger. :) But yes Viv Graduated, where has the time gone. I still see that little Red Headed bundle of pure energy running around my house at the age of two Tap dancing on my hardwood floors.. Now she is 22 and she is still running just not at Grandma's ( or as she calls me GMA). Yes that one comes from all the computer and texting she does. Lord no wonder this generation can spell worth a hoot. But seriously we are very very proud of her, now all she needs is a job so she can take the next steps she has planned.

We have sat on the sidelines watching this girl grow into a fine young woman and couldn't be more proud of her. She has had some ride since starting College. Viv entered Theater Studies and just flew with it. Viv's special love is Comedy and she has performed in her own One Woman Show, done lots and lots of Improve at different clubs around the area. She also did a minor in Irish Studies and traveled to Ireland to study for one Quarter in her Jr. year. She will eventually be traveling to LA to study with Groundlings, eventually she not only wants to perform but also write comedy. Her long term goal is to one day not only to write for SNL but to also perform on the show. Knowing our girl as I do she will make this happen. Viv told us at two that she was going to be a STAR and by God she will be. This child has always known what she wants and where she wants to go.

Well I' m off to do my Monday running around, and now that my house if finally quiet and settled I won't be feeling so frantic. Managed to get all the forgotten chore finished yesterday once everyone left. All you beautiful people have a great day.

The World Does Exist

Yes it really is me, SURPRISE.!!!! I have been suffering from a not too rare condition common to many people, especially this time of year. This condition is know as ACUTE CRANIAL RECTAL-ITIS with VISION and SPEECH impairment. Okay if you keep giggling over that you will be spraying your monitor with your coffee. For some reason it took longer than one would figure to get over the health problems I had in March. It all seemed to snowball after that and I just couldn't get over being depressed. I hate it when I can't seem to get it together when I think I should. I kept telling myself to get over it but I just wasn't listening I guess.

Spring is here, or the lack there of was most depressing, I mean snow in May. I finally turned the heat off in the Apt. the 1st of May and just put on an extra sweater. It is Spring for goodness sake, why should the heat still be running!

I haven't been working in my Shop but will get back to that too this week. I have been working on Ads in the Newspapers here and also online on local TV sites. I haven't been totally idle though, have been working on some outfits for our first Great Grandchild due in August. I have managed to finish 5 sweater sets so far and 4 blankets. My hands hurt and the fingers are twisted from the knitting needles and crochet hooks but it is worth it. Our shy little one..

Well the dinner dishes are calling my name, best answer before the revolt. Have a great day and be back again soon.

Just a Quick Hello

This is just a quick Run-by-Post. I know I haven't been on in awhile but have been fighting Influenza. Last Tuesday they were trying to keep me from having to go to the Hospital (Thank you Lord.) I was going into Respiratory Failure and my Doctor was trying to prevent this. After a breathing treatment and massive Antibiotics they got my PulseOx level up enough I wouldn't have to go to the Hospital. Did I mention I hate Hospitals? Well it's been almost of week now and I can finally manage to act and feel somewhat Human. At least I have stopped kissing the ground, that is something in it's self. I have a 7" gash on my arm from hitting the corner of a drawer on the way to the floor. Still don't remember doing this but the arm is a great reminder.

Will be back later in the week when I can stay alittle more alert than right now. Love you all, have a good day, and stay away from sick people.

The Weekend Is Upon Us

Well it is Saturday and of course it is raining out (not unusual for the Pacific Northwest). I'm not sure how far I will get today, I've got Bronchitis and between coughing up a Lung and a Tonsil or two I may not get as much accomplished I really want to.

I managed the other day to get some pictures of Husband of Wonders new pieces, wish I could keep them all. I love everything wood but I already have so many of his Beautiful work sitting around our Apartment I just can't keep it all for myself. Here are a couple new Bowls he has designed in the past few weeks. The are all segmented construction and take along time to cut all those small pieces then form them into rings. It gets even more complicated. Once all the small pieces are glued up and the ring is formed then you have to glue all the rings together. Then the fun part starts, the actual turning on the Lathe. The picture to your left is a Knob Bowl on with a Pedestal base. The Bowl's body is White Oak, the accent is Maple then he has stained the Bowl with a Sedona Red Stain. Bowl stands 8.5" tall, top opening is 6.25. The Stain brings the graining to the fore front.

The Bowl to the right is another Knob bowl of White oak with a little more intricate design, very Celtic looking. This bowl is the same size as the one above.

This cute smaller bowl is made of Peruvian Pink Wood, it is a rare wood and the color of the grain is just beautiful. Bowl stands 3.5" high and the opening is 5" in width.

The next little Bowl to your right is Myrtle Wood and has so much character with all the Worm Holes. I think it gives it a life of it's own. Now I just need to list these all in his Zibbet Shop , hopefully I can get this done tomorrow.

February Is Finally Gone

Well February is finally over and this makes me extremely happy. February has always been a difficult month for me and I tend to hit the bottom of a very Dark Hole. I really hate this feeling but it's been going on now for almost 44 yrs now. I won't bore you with the details but I lost two precious Bundles way before their time one February day. So it started with February being a bad time for me. Over the years it seems anything really bad in my life happened in February. The only really really good thing that happened in my life in February was the birth of my First Grandchild; the grandson that is now expecting his first little one. This year the bad news was from two of my brothers, the one I grew up with and my biological little brother. The brother I was raised with(we were both adopted) has to have one of his legs amputated and my biological brother (met Johnny when I was in my 30's) is battling a very rare form of cancer. Yes my February's really really suck. In my mind I split the month up between January and March, makes for two really long months, don't ever try to write January 45th on a check. Take it from me the bank has no sense of humor when it comes to that kind of creativity, go figure. So now it is time to get back to normal and start working in the shop again, Lord knows I've neglected it for way to long.

Last week here we had lots of snow and ice but now we are finally back to our normal, some sun and lots rain. I will take rain over snow and ice any day of the week. I know "Husband of Wonder" is glad not to be driving on all that snow and ice and I don't have to worry so much about him making it to and from work okay. I know the weather across the country has been really bad so hope you all have crawled out from under and are enjoying some milder weather now. It's a whopping 46 here right now...

Did manage to get the Federal Taxes done and filed today..major WOOHOO and color me oh so surprised we are actually getting something back this year.

Well I need to go take pictures of some of "Husband of Wonders" new bowls for his site and tomorrow I can load them and start on some new Jewelry for my shop. Hope you all have a great day and many blessings coming your way.

Cleaning Of Blog In Progress

Please someone tell me why I have chosen to revamp my Blog alittle now? I just wanted to change a few things on it but now it seems I have created a Monster. Just where did I put that Monster Begone Spray? I seem to start with one little chore and it gets a mind of it's own and I'm sitting here with my head spinning. I don't think I got out of this chair for more than an hour Yesterday, chair really needs some new padding if my Tushie is going to be glued to it.

I am trying to get the Pages updated, ya that is a breeze "NOT"! I have managed to get a few items listed on the "Shop Offerings" page, YAY. There are so many steps for this page including installing a "Buy It Now button", of course you have to make a new Button each time. What have I let myself in for? Yes I have this overwhelming need to punish myself go figure. Once I get to the Gallery Page it should go alittle faster, that will be just loading pictures. I will start tackling all this again after I do my errands this morning, that is providing I don't take a nap. Let's see a show of hands for taking that nap!!!!!! Come on now more than just three have to agree with the nap idea, fine then I will put the groceries away and come back into my cave and work.

Okay I started this Blog post this morning at 8:45am and it is now 8pm. Yes the shopping got done, groceries put away then everything just unraveled. I do unravel really well, I sat down and had some soup for lunch and promptly fell asleep in my chair. I knew I was in trouble when I sat down and the hot soup just put the finishing touches to my afternoon. Before I knew it I needed to start dinner, did a few more chores. Husband of Wonder arrived home and when I looked at the clock it was five and so the evening went. I am now finally getting back to My Cave and staring at this Computer again.

I have had my head buried in my Shop for the past week or more going through my supplies, I never realized how much I had. I have over the past year passed off alot of pieces to Brat knowing she could use them. Well the time has come to start de-stashing some of the extra things I have left. A new Shop on Zibbet will be opening this week with lots and lots of "Goodies" to pick from. There are so many talented Artists out there that could get some use from all these lovely items. There will be everything you could possibly imagine in this Shop, Beads, Findings and fun things to play with. I will let you know when the shop opens, I promise it will be sometime this week. Now all I have to do is get pictures taken and post them. Wish me luck I may never find my way out of this Shop so every once in awhile send up a flare so I can find the door...PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Now for some really really great news. When I thought I could give my hands a rest from all that crocheting and knitting I can't. Yes my Grandson and new Granddaughter are expecting their first little one the first part of August. So that also means "Brat" is going to be a Grandmother...Well now that I am floating on a cloud I hope everyone else is having a Great Day.

The Old Year Passes and A New Year Begins

Well as we wave a fond farewell to the Old Year we tend to look back and remember. Some parts of the Old Year are awesome memories and some not so. Our countries woes with the economy have knocked on most of our doors. We have had to deal with a lot, some of us more than others. We have all had to learn how to be more creative to make it through all this mess. I know Christmas here was extremely Creative, I remember telling my kids about the fact we would be having a Creative Christmas this year. At least in this time they had that to fall back on. I tried to teach them that Handmade gifts were nicer than something they bought because they were truly giving something of themselves. I spent the two an a half weeks before Christmas knitting and crocheting things for the entire family. Lord I could hardly move my poor old hands each morning. I made this really cute Hooded Scarf for my "Brat" and when my youngest Granddaughter saw it put it on right away, you just got to love a 12 year old!!!! She told her mom she could have it back once Gramma made her one, guess what went out in the mail yesterday..ya you got it. I"m just glad I had a box full of yard so I could do all these projects.

Well the New Year is here now and in our home it came in without party, it was too cold and icy here to go out and we like to comfort of our home. Yes Husband of Wonder and I are just to old to go Party or want to be out on "crappy" roads. No champagne for us just some old movies and a warm chair to cuddle up in. New Years Eve is Husband of Wonder Birthday so got his favorite Pizza for dinner and in the comfort of his home. Yes we are Old and Dull..as he would say we are "Ma and Pa Kettle at Home".

The New Year hasn't started off to grand for my "Brat", she got up this morning to a broken pipe somewhere upstairs. Poor baby has water dripping down all three stories of the house. The pipes are old, the house they live in is 100 years old, she finally found a plumber that will come out sometime today but has to come all the way from Pullman to Rosalia. Right now she is trying to get everything in the way moved out. It's been so cold over in Eastern Washington but in the winter it generally is. They just finally hit double digits in the evening the last day or two, and by double digits I mean the teens. I lived in Spokane for a long time an am very happy I'm no longer there.

I have not made any resolutions really for this year, at least ones I can't readily keep. I will be back to posting more regularly, more promoting on my shop, and getting out there and talking to some shops about carrying some of my pieces. Sales we extremely slow on Zibbet this Holiday Season (like no Sales) so have to turn that around. I know Zibbet is still new and I am fairly new there but it's a great site just have to work it more. It's been a year and a half since I was laid off and I really need the shop to start paying off.

Well I should stop rambling and get busy. My wish for the New Years is that things will be better for everyone, more good times and fewer hard time. Be happy my friends and may you all get your Holiday Wishes.

Yes I'm Still Among the Living

It seems like it has been months since I last posted but only two weeks. I never know lately where the time is going. It seems like before I know it the day is gone and I sit and wonder "WHERE". I have been working on a few new pieces and I did have the last Challenge Piece to finish. I know it really isn't a good excuse but it's the only one I have. I miss my friends in the "Land of Blog", you are all very special and dear to me.

It is Sunday so of course I am doing the laundry and still need to get something out for dinner. I think "Husband of Wonder" would like to eat this evening, but it is what to cook that has me stumped. Don't you just hate coming up with something different to fix every evening? I am leaning toward Tempura battered fish and chips for dinner tonight. I have some great Sweet Potato Fries to fix with that, a nice salad to go with..ya that sounds good.

I have been working really hard on my new Zibbet Shop lately, I have closed my Etsy Shop down and am busy promoting my new shop. This was a hard decision for me but with sales going down and view nearly nill I had to something. Zibbet is a great place and you don't have all those Etsy fees. I just couldn't afford all those fees when nothing was coming in, I hated leaving Etsy but had no other choice.
Like I said I have been working a some new pieces and here are a couple of them. The first one is with the New Acrylic Beads that are in Fashion this season, takes you back to the 50's.

The next picture is of a Crystal Pearl and Ovaline CZ necklace that would be great for any Special Evening on the Town.

Well today marks the day the Witches, Ghost, Goblins and other Goulies come out to play. I love this part of the year, and seeing all those cuties dressed up in their costumes.

Have been busy around here trying to get things ready for the Holiday Season. What with everything that is going on in Etsy right now I have put that Shop on Vacation and just concentrating on my Zibbet Shop. Right now I have a great Sale on the Metal Chokers, I have reduced their prices and then added another 20% off. Finally Completed New Fall Challenge Piece

So much has been going on around here I'm not sure if I am coming, going or already been. My head seems to be always in a spinning state, if it flies of my shoulders and you find it please return it. I have some new epoxy that should keep it in place,( she says hopefully). Well at any rate after having worked for the past couple weeks I finally came up with the Fall Challenge piece for the Bead Factory Contest, the color pallet is really beautiful. I had so much fun playing with these beads and trying out different combinations. One of the requirements was you had to use at least part of all the beads in the Project Kit. So many beautiful beads to pick from. You can add other elements, beads, findings, you may already have, and of course I have lots of both in my shop. hehehe

Well after much thought and alot of trial and error this is the piece I finally came up with. It is call "Mardi Gras Queen. Every time I looked at all those beautiful Opalescent beads it reminded me of the Mardi Gras beads. I have added some great Filigree basket bead caps, two sizes of FW Rice Pearls, a great Heart and Pearl Focal and some great Sterling small multi link chain and a Sterling Heart Shaped closure. I have to take it down and turn it in this week, the voting is the first weekend of November. Fingers crossed, let me know what you think of this piece.

I meant to post last Saturday, if was my two year Anniversary here in the Wonderful Land of Blog. Last year I forgot all about it till about 4 months after the date had come and gone. I should be able to remember it, Lord if falls the day after I turn older. It's not that I block out my Birthday just the age part. New Project Challenge

Well the Project Beads came out today. I went to the Bead Factory and picked up mine and was so happy when I saw the Color Palette. These beads are so Beautiful and it is going to be fun coming up with a New Piece for this Challenge. Here is a picture of the Beads included in the Project Pack. Well the Wedding has come and gone now life will get back to normal, well as normal as my life can get. John and Laura became Man and Wife last Saturday, September 25 and they had a perfect day for the Wedding. The Red and White color scheme came from the fact that they are both Firefighters and EMT's. My Grandson and new Grand-Daughter made such a Beautiful couple standing there in the church.

Meet the happy couple, oh wait a minute that's John and his brother and Best Man Quinn. When I took a picture of John and Laura kissing Quinn pipes up "What about me?' My two little jokers. Yes we have alot of goofiness in our Family.

May I introduce you to the Wedding couple. Laura was wearing her Mother's Wedding Gown and looked so Precious. The couple smiled all the way through their wedding ceremony, no tears for them. Of course Grandma and even Grandpa shed some tears.

Here they are exchanging their rings, still smiling. John said he didn't notice anyone else in the church once he saw Laura and he couldn't help but smile.

Here they are receiving communion, for John this was also his First Holy Communion for he had just joined the church. And yes I cried some more. I had taken two men's Hankies with me and needed both.

Everyone one say "AWWWWWWWW". hehe Young love, nothing like it.

Aren't those cakes great. Laura made the cutting cake, and she doesn't cook, she did a great job on it. A friend of the family made the other two cakes and did the decorating of them all. Kellie even made two Fire Engines one with John's name and one with Laura's name on them. They were so sweet.

And of course the Mother of the Groom, my BRAT Flight Fancy, and our youngest Grand-daughter Hannah.

This is the Special Bowl that "Husband of Wonder" aka Papa designed and made to the Kids Wedding. It has the beautiful Hearts and their Initials, something to remember their Wedding always.

Sorry this was so long, but I didn't use all the pictures I took, you lucky people. Now that this is behind us I can now get back to normal and I will not let so much time go bye between posts again. Have a great day, and be happy .....

Fall Begins With Sunshine and A School Bus

Well for some of the Districts School around here began today. All those sweet smiles on the Little Ones with new Backpack loaded down. The newness of this will wear off in a couple days when homework is handed out. Of course this week is only a two school day week because of the Labor Day Weekend.

Does everyone have plans for one last camping trip for the up coming Holiday Weekend? For us it will be quiet, me in my shop and "Husband of Wonder" in his. And it is suppose to rain here this weekend, of course. We are really not into camping anymore, my idea of roughing it is a Hampton Inn with room service and flush toilets. I'm not into dirt, bugs, or strange looking leaves. I like to be warm, clean and comfortable. Yes I still have adventure in my soul it just doesn't revolve around the greater out of doors with bugs and dirt.

They had the voting at The Bead Factory this past Sunday on the Project Summer Challenge. Monday evening I got a email saying I was won of the winners, color me so surprised and happy. It's Monday All Over Again

It seems like we just did this Monday think, oh ya that right we did a week ago. Well that was just a big DUH!!!! no wonder "Husband of Wonder has been gone all day. The pictures you see to the left are from another great Treasury a pair of my earrings were in. Boy do I feel neat and special, and no I won't let it go to my head but thank you for thinking that. hehe

I did manage to get some work accomplished in my shop this past weekend, YAY. The Pearl and Amethyst Choker I showed before has actually been requested. This customer wanted one just like it but different Sterling Sliders, I actually got it finished and all ready for her on the 8th of Sept. I was afraid I wouldn't have enough of the large Rice FreshWater Pearls for a second double strand neck band. I got within one, yes I said one, pearl to be finished and started to panic just alittle. I didn't want to wait to do this till my new order of Pearls arrived, you know how that goes you want to finish it and finish it now. Well I looked through all the places that could possibly have an odd pearl, and Eureka I found one. I took new pictures and sent them to the customer and she is in love, and me I'm just HAPPY, HAPPY .

Well it seems I now have an employee working in my shop, works for food and belly rubs, cheap at half the price. Prissy is the only one of my two Cats that is allowed in the shop, Bitzy thinks everything is a toy and she gets to take them. While I was on the Computer the other evening Prissy had taken up her patrol spot on my work table watching for Bitzy to come to the door. It is so funny so of course I couldn't resist taking a couple shots of my new Guard doing her duty. Now look at that face, does that mean business or what. This other one she's looking right at me wanting to know what I think I'm doing taking her picture. Of course maybe she wants to know why I haven't cleaned up the table yet. I keep telling her I'm in the middle of a project. Once I leave the room she will curl up in my chair and there she will be in the morning when I get up. All that for food and a belly rub.

I actually started this post 12 days ago and saved it and haven't found the time to get back to it. Things have been happening in the Family that have over shadowed everything lately. Next big thing is the Wedding of my oldest Grandson in one month. I figure the world will slow down at some point but not yet. I'm also trying to keep up with my shops and new pieces but that is hit and miss alittle lately too. Did get a couple more new pieces made this past week but still need to take their pictures. I keep adding to my TO DO LIST daily, it keeps growing and I keep getting more and more behind. Well all things will even out and everything will get done, I'm just not sure when. LOL

So Much to Do - To Few Minutes

Yes that is me hopping around trying to figure out what to do next. Now that I can finally get around without it killing me I have so much to catch up on. My house hates me, but it will submit to cleaning. I have been trying to bring some order around here for the past week now. I still have to do some things in stages but that is okay. I would really like to get the oven cleaned before this next heat wave hits us this weekend. Lord I hate cleaning the oven, it's like going into the bowels of Hell to me. :) Oh well it has to be done and I've been elected. Of course the only ones voting were me and the two cats and we all know how they voted.

I did manage to get some work accomplished in my shop, YAY. I finished the Challenge piece (Twice). It just didn't flow right the first time so changed out the first strand and like it much better. It's actually very Christmasy ( yes I know that isn't a real word). The center focal is suppose to represent a Poinsettia getting ready to bloom. I used the small green bead and the faceted red crystal beads and some others that I had here in the shop. I will go turn it in tomorrow. I guess they vote for the 5 winners the weekend of the 28th of this month. Here is picture of the piece.

This morning after getting a few things done around the house I sat in my Shop and worked on this new Fresh Water Pearl Wedding Choker. It is comprised of Fresh Water Rice pearls in two sizes, Keishi Pearls, Swarovski Crystal Spacers, and a fantastic Faceted Amethyst Briolette with such great clarity. I will get it listed along with two other pieces I have yet to Photo tomorrow after Grocery Shopping.

Well now it is time to go finish up dinner. I know "Husband of Wonder" would like to have something to eat when he gets home, Lord men expect so much..hehehe

A Silly Saturday Find

Well that day has come and gone and I found some really funny pictures of, you guessed it ME. I really hate having my picture taken at anytime, I have this thing about my ugly pictures. Anyway I ran across these from my youth and thought you deserved a good laugh to start you weekend off. Well here we go..WARNING don't be drinking while looking you are liable to wearing your drink don't the front of you shirt. hehe

I started life kind of cute, at least in this picture with my brother when I was two months old. This was the picture on the Family Christmas card in 1945. I like this one...My brother would be turning 1 three days after Christmas. He use to be cute to but over the years he just grew into a Pest, but then that is what Big Brothers are for.

Back in the day Photographers went door to door with a Pony and took the pictures of you right in your own yard. I really wanted to keep that Pony but that wasn't to happen. I am 5 in this picture, I'm sure there are a few of you out there with the same picture in an old album.

And who could forget there First Holy Communion! This is the only time in my life I looked like a "Miniature" Bride. I never got to wear a Wedding Gown when I got married so I guess this is as close to that as I'll ever come. Lord I looked so innocent then, well that didn't last long. Evil Child here and still am and proud of it. :) I was 7 here and in the second grade. I still have the veil and my prayer book from that day.

Back in the 50"s every little girl owned a Navy Blue Pleated Skirt and a Middy Blouse, I'm not sure why but we did. I loved the skirt but not the blouse..Now put that hot cup of coffee down and hold your sides. It's a real HOOT isn't it. I can hear half of you out there saying "Thank God I Didn't Have to Wear That"! For all you young ones talk to your Mothers and Aunts and I bet they have a picture of them wearing this outfit. Enjoy your Laugh. I was a mature 8 yrs old here and as you can tell from the picture I didn't want to be doing this.

Then Teenage years hit and I was to graduate. My Graduation picture is so funny but I thought it was great. My kids always got a good laugh over this one, yes the laugh came from the Glasses. I loved those glasses, in fact I picked them out myself. Hey the Cats Eye Glasses were the "IN" Thing in 1963 and I was into the style of the day. You have to remember this was back before Panty Hose, Designer Jeans and Tee Shirts. You slept on horrible brush rollers every night, always wore Hose with your skirts and dresses. We were not allowed to wear pants of my kind to school. We would never be seen shopping downtown unless dressed properly, that meant your belt and purse matched your shoes and we wore gloves that matched also. You were always put together and never ever appeared in curlers. God forbid your boyfriend or any boy for that matter saw you in curlers and without make-up. We didn't have curling irons, blow dryers but we had lots of Hair Spray. :)

Well I've done it again and am now not sure which way to turn. Why or why do I get myself into these things? Maybe I really do like to punish myself, no can't be that or my kids would still be living here. I have this bad habit of saying yes to something then later wonder why. You would think that after all those years of volunteering for anything the kids wanted I would have learned. Guess not, I seem to still have the" post it" stuck to my forehead saying "Sucker Here"!!!
This time I have gotten myself into a design challenge for our great local Bead Shop, The Bead Factory. Picked up the packet of beads and have to figure out something before the 23rd of August. Yes I can add other beads to this project, but have to use the ones in the packet too. Here is a picture of what came in the packet.

I can see some great combinations in these beads but not all in one piece..Oh I'm sure I will come up with something they just haven't told me what they want to be yet. Wish they would start screaming at me, it would help alot. Wish me luck, if any of you have any bright ideas of a theme let me know, I can use all the help I can get!!!!

I have been working on a new Shop in Zibbet, great site and the prices are really great. I also like the fact that my work is getting views there. Call me crazy but without views how can you sell your work? I will also be moving "Husband of Wonders" things over to Zibbet also, just haven't started on that yet though.

I'm finally able to stand and walk without wanting to die..yay!!! So I did manage to get pictures take of the three new pieces that have been sitting here . They are listed in Zibbet and also Etsy, I will also put them up here on the blog and my Facebook.

Stuck In Granny Low With No Gear Stick

Yes I have been feeling like this old truck out in a field, falling apart and no one in site. My back has been bothering me forever it seems, I just finally hit my breaking point the past week or so. I was not able to stand for more that 15 or 20 minutes without having to sit down so the pain would ease off. It's a hell of a way to do housework 15 minutes on and 30 minutes off. Lord it was taking all morning to get the house vacuumed. I have CATS they SHED I need to vacuum!!!!! This past week it got so much worse, standing was a joke and walking more than a few steps was a killer. The Back Pain Gods just were not listening to me, I had work to do, photos to take, groceries to buy, a life to live, Friday was the last day I could take it I was in tears in my car and wanting very much to throw up. Childbirth didn't hurt as much as my lower back.

Well I have never been to a Chiropractor before in my life but "Husband of Wonder" goes to one and it works for him. So Friday I stopped by his office and he found the problem and started working on it. It seems I really am "different", I always knew I was goofy but now I'm goofy different. For some reason, he said a muscle spasm on my left side had pulled my right hip out of place and made my right leg shorter that the left. That's me, lopsided as usual, hell for breakfast. Had to go back to him this morning again and the hip and leg are almost back where they belong. I can actually sit, stand and walk without thinking of "Hari Kari". I go back again Monday, so hopefully that will be the last time or just one more after that. I keep telling these people to just jack my hair up and drive a new body under it. I don't really think that is too much to ask for, do you?

I did manage to get three new pieces finished before this all got so bad, but haven't been able to photo them yet. Tomorrow hopefully I can get them done and listed. I don't want to cross my fingers though because with my luck lately they won't uncross. I will post the pictures once I get them done.

It's Official Today is Christmas

Yes it really is Christmas in July, and the ole Gentlemen stopped by my mail box today. No the hair dye has not been seeping into my skull, I'm always this way..hehe

As I mentioned in an earlier post I won the Rings & Things Friday Giveaway, I was told I would receive my "goodies" soon. Yes you guessed it they came today and what a Great Box of Goodies.. I got two great Magazines, Stringing and Glass Art, can't wait to go through them both. Also in this box was a large bag of everything but their sink. Findings of all kinds, beads ( lamp work, glass, seed beads,crystal bicones, crystal pearls, charms, sterling) you name it and it was included in this box. Boy do I feel neat and special.....I am looking forward to start working with all my new treasures. I spread it all over my computer desk so I could get some pictures of all these goodies, here they are.

Well now to the task of finding homes for all these great pieces, might have to go get a couple of more small drawer units... Oh what to make now, decisions, decisions, decisions...

I look out my Shop window at this majestic view everyday, I never grow tired of our beautiful Mountain. As a small child we would spend a few weekends a year at our cabin, yes log, up on Mt Rainier just above Upper Lake Tipsoo. A two room cabin and out the big window by the kitchen table was "Our Mountain". As a teenager I skied this Great Beauty, now I am content to just sit with my tea and look at in the morning.

Weekend in Sight

As this Heat Wave hitting all across the Us continues I thought it would be fun to see how our Parents and Grandparents dressed for a fun weekend at the beach. After seeing some of these pictures you will wonder how any woman survived the heat and of course all the while maintaining her Dignity.

Bathing costumes (as they were called) in the 1900's were made of Virgin Wool. All I can say about that is "itchy scratchy and smelly". Here is a lovely Beauty of 1908, now I ask you how could you stay cool in that? Remember now too you didn't wear this any where but the SeaShore, Biking back home you would be back in you regular Summer Costume for the Day.

By 1930 Women still didn't reveal as much but they did show little more , dare I say it, Skin.

And of course you couldn't show too much of those sexy legs, people might get the wrong idea as to the type of woman you were...hehe

Once the 1940's rolled around and women were actually seen wearing slacks, smoking cigarettes in public no less things started to really change. Betty Grable became the "Pin Up Girl" for most of our Soldiers and Sailors in WWII. My Father had this "pin up" picture of Betty on the Bulkhead of the ships he served on. I got to see it when I was about 10, it was put away in his trunk in the attic. Now here is alot of skin showing...well they did have to keep morale up and all that..

So is it any wonder that Women's clothing, and especially Swimwear came into the light of day.

These Beauties are sporting the two piece look of 1945, this is the type of bathing suit my Mother wore in those days. And she was shocked when I bought my first two piece and that was 1963

.This is very similar to mine but mine was Black, Lord I loved that bathing suit. Needless to say I had the figure back then to wear this now it's just a blast from the past. Today the Bathing Suit has become something that leaves very little to the imagination and I kind of think that is sad.

So put on what makes you coolest in this nasty heat and just enjoy yourself, be glad it is not made of Wool, I know I am. Now go tell the kids they have to share that wading pool with Mommy. Have a fun weekend all and don't forget the sun screen!!!!!!!!!!

Summer Has Finally Arrived in The Pacific Northwest !!!!!!!!

It is said that Summer begins on the Sixth of July in the Pacific Northwest. As you can see from the picture above this Statement is so true. We had small showers and cool weather on the 4th, people wearing sweatshirts and jackets at the Fireworks here in Tacoma and up in Seattle. Lord we didn't hit one day at 75 until the end of June, the last time it hit 75 was the middle of September 09. So everyone will go crazy here now with this up coming Heat Wave, out to buy Fans and Air Conditioning Units. When it gets really warm around here we get the nasty Humidity you have back east and down south. At least the Sun will be out and that is all that counts now.

Today has been a banner day for me..no I didn't look in the mirror and discover the wrinkles had gone (wishful thinking that one). I was checking some things in Face Book and found out I had won the Friday Giveaway from Rings and Things . This has to be my Favorite place to shop from most of my Semi Precious stones and Beads. If you haven't been there be sure to check out their site, have your plastic ready- they also take PayPal. All the beads are at Wholesale price, you can't beat that. Anyway I won with the Wedding Necklace and will be getting a bag of Goodies', can't wait. I feel like a kid at Christmas right now. This is the picture that was chosen by them. What To Do Next?

June has been a really slow month in the Shop. Yes I know it's Summer Time and the kids are out of school for the Summer. I need to be working on more pieces but am having trouble coming up with some ideas. I need a good swift kick in the butt to jump start myself I guess. Okay I feel better now, my little "Morning Whine" is now over.

I did have a Custom order last week and had lots of fun with it. A gentleman had string of beautiful Peacock Fresh Water Pearls and asked to have a necklace made for his "Lady Friend". When I sent him the pictures for his approval he was so surprise I manage to get a double strand necklace out of the Pearls. Well he liked it and said he couldn't wait to give it to his "Lady Friend". This is the piece I came up with. You really can add so many different things to highlight these Wonder Peacock Pearls.

Also had a custom order for two Crystal Heart Earrings for upcoming Birthday Presents. Those were fun, one set in a Beautiful Light Blue and the other in Amethyst. These will be going out in the mail this morning.So now I guess I should get on with my day, like getting dressed and putting on some make-up. I have a Team Meeting at 11 o'clock and if I don't get some make-up on I will scare everyone there they may even ask me to leave the Team. So time to find the trowel and get at the make-up job. Sorry It's Been So Long

Lord it has been almost two weeks since I last posted..where has the time gone? For some reason things just seem to be getting away from me lately, just way too much going on in my Drab little life I guess. My brain is just to cluttered, need to get the duster out and take care of those Pesky Cobwebs I guess.

Our youngest Grandson Graduated from High School on the 12th of this month; another one making me feel older than I am. A Family Friend( adult male in his late 30's and father of three) of course using the term Adult is always risky with this Friend. Yes he likes to come up with some really out there ideas for these kids so it becomes unforgettable. Well this year since Quinn is always up for something funny the fun began. Of course we started with this very handsome young man

then through the magic appears the ONE the ONLY

Bucket Man.

Bucket Man had the time of his live making the Grand Tour of Greater Spokane. One of the highlights of the evening was a stop at Hooters, now what young man wouldn't like that to remember his Graduation? Bucket Man has this great picture taken with three of the Hooter girls, but not to be out done his alter ego "Quinn" also has his picture taken, can't let Bucket Man have all the fun.

So I would say he had a great Graduation Evening and yes one to remember and tell his Grandkids about one day.

Then we have "Husband of Wonder" and the past twelve weeks spent on a remodel job out on Hood Canal. I was a huge project and poor baby came home dragging most nights. Lots of miles cover just getting there and back then all the work that had to be accomplished. He not only had to remodel, walls and all, the kitchen but also two really sexy bathrooms and a laundry room. But at least when he got home the two Divas of the household were waiting for him to sit and be comfortable and adore them.. So here is the poor man covered in sheet rock dust with this adoring fans perched on his lap waiting to be petted..Of course the Cats wants always come first..hehehe.

As you can see they are all looking at me with that "Where is my dinner" ? look. Yes the all got fed and the evening ended on a happy note for all. Now "Husband of Wonder" is off to a new Project, this time in Seattle.

Tuesday Treasure

Good afternoon all my Beautiful Friends, hope you are having a Sunny Happy Creative Day. I finally unearthed my work table this morning now I can start on another piece. I really should have done all of that yesterday but being it was Monday the Monday Rule took effect. I bought a new Kodak All In One this past weekend, of course something had to glitch up while loading it. The printer worked great but the Scan wouldn't do it's thing, of course it probably knew I'm not happy unless I'm totally frustrated. Well on the phone I went yesterday trying to solve this problem, over two hours later (on the phone of course and talking to someone in India) the problem got taken care of. I really love this new Toy, not expensive, ink is so much cheaper and the quality is great. And of course it does lots of nifty things.

Well now down to my Tuesday Treasure. I met Sandy Davis Dublin a couple weeks ago through a convo to my shop and went browsing through her wonderful Shop on Etsy. Sandy is know as FairyQueenCrochet and as it says in her Shop announcement it is "Magical" !!!!!
Sandy has had a life of Magical Times, she has been an actress and stand-in all her life. Sandy has been in countless movies and TV shows---"Seinfeld," "Yes Dear," "Designing Women," Murphy Brown," Scream 2," "Big Business." Sandy also is a very accomplished Pianist, she has been playing since she was 6 yrs old. Well I asked Sandy if she would let me do a feature on her, her magical life and her Fantastic Shop she kindly said yes. So without and more gabbing on my part let me introduce you to Sandy of FairyQueenCrochet.

1.How did you find out about Etsy?

I heard about Etsy at a gathering and one lady admired my very first jewelry item and said I should "go on Itsy-Bitsy". That my crocheted jewelry "would be perfect." So I looked up Itsy-Bitsy on Google and nothing. I was really new to the computer then--not much better now--so

was relieved when I didn't find anything. But I continued to improve and define my style--totally love creating--and got lots of notice. Then about 6 mos. later at a meeting, as I wore my pendants and chokers wherever for comment, I heard about "Etsy" and nervously looked that up. And there it was!!!

2.What type of items do you carry in your shop?

I have crocheted chokers and pendants and brooches. Also crocheted vintage tapestries that I made in the 70's and a line of vintage 70's clothing that is coming.

3. Where does your shop originate and how long have you been on Etsy?

I live in Studio City, Ca.
I joined Etsy on my birthday 1 year ago--June 3, 2009.
4. How long did it take before you had your first sale?

It took a very long 6 mos.
5. My What would you say is your favorite item in your shop and why?

My favorite piece is always the one just finished.

6.What ways do you use to get the word about your Etsy site out to others?
I have learned about "promotion", "promotion", "promotion" and how important it is and that it continues forever. I knew nothing and thought I would start selling right away--how that was going to happen--my inventive jewelry?--I didn't know.
First, I had to learn how to take pics and bought my first camera ever, last May 2009. Then I found my pics to be horrible and dark! So I bought 2 OttLite Lamps--expensive but recommended--and my pics were still horrible and dark. Thousands of pics later--outside in morning sun, afternoon sun, twilight--I discovered my back to living room windows was good!!! By that time I had a beautiful wig head for my chokers--more shadows to learn about--that I made more beautiful with make-up.
And by accident, I discovered Picnik. Whoa Nelly!!! I was sooo impressed with myself.
So now pics good enough and still nothing! I had my shop about 4 mos. then and 17 hearts which I thought amazing!! Then a wonderful seller told me about "hearting".
She said "heart as many as you can every day" and "click on my hearts" to start. So I started and decided to send "Fan Letter's" along with the heart to shops that really impressed. Then I got a "thank you" from a shop I hearted. So I started to do that too.
That brought my shop attention because I got thank yous back from most of the shops and compliments. And I got my sales--only 7 so far--solely from sellers I contacted!
Then there are FaceBook and Twitter that I'm on because everyone said "as many followers and fans you get is the way to sales." I'm still confused about all this. Its very time-consuming and I feel I have to respond back to everything. And I forget to post some little comment update every day.
The sellers who bought from me have been very supportive, especially "FaerieKat", who has been trying to help me with the computer and give me tips. She suggested joining a team which had been suggested before in Etsy How-to's. So we both joined FAETeam. They have exhibits that I've been in and and have to remember to Forum, but I feel I'm "getting my name out there" and the beauty and creativity of the members is amazing!!
7. What advice would you give someone just starting there shop here on Etsy?
My advice would be to learn as much as possible about selling on the web--I subscribe to Etsy Success and Etsy Finds. I don't know if I'll ever learn it all.
And never give up!!!! I gave myself a year and even though 7 sales and possible a tapestry sold for 8, I love making my chokers too much and love having my shop too much to quit. I got help with my banner and avatar from a friend and asking for help has been wonderful and people have been so generous. I'm shy about this but it has to be done!!!
8. Looking around on Etsy is there one shop you find totally awesome or deserving of special attention and what makes you feel this way.
It's really hard to single out any one shop on Etsy. The talent is truly awe-inspiring. All the shops on FAETeam are just brimming with beauty and talent--the fantasy themed art is so appealing to me--especially "Archerous" and "FaerieKat" and "Gypsyspirit" for jewelry and "The Haunted Studio" and "Aquarianne" for artwork.
9.Do you have anything special about you that you would like to share?

This is my first interview and probably waaaay to long. I had a lot to say.
I have worked in movies and TV all my life as an actress and stand-in until "ageism" got in the way. I play classical piano since 6 yrs old and volunteer 2 days a week at St. Jo's Hosp. in Burbank. They have a gorgeous Grand Piano in the lobby. I learned crochet 40 years ago--yes, I'm a sexy senior--and can reproduce any 8 x 10 pic, drawing, photo, into a tapestry, etc.

I want to thank BaronessBijoutery for taking an interest in my shop and wanting to feature me. As I said before, this my first interview and didn't know when to shut up.

Someone Said It's Tuesday!?!?!?

By all accounts today is Tuesday, then why do I feel like it is Monday? I know, we must have had two Sundays this past weekend but that doesn't make any sense! Oh Lord I'm going around the bend and not having any fun doing it. Some one please throw me a Life Ring...My little brain doesn't seem to be working right..please explain what is happening to me..I know I took my Estrogen this morning, no Hot Flashes, no Hair growing from my chin or Panic Attacks so it must be something else..Maybe I stood in the shower under that lovely hot water to long this morning and I have water on the brain.. Wait, just shook my head and no sound of Sloshing up there..Hell what could it be, why am I so confused about the day of the week..Oh ya I remember now, Husband of Wonder was home for three days in a row so must have had a Holiday Weekend..Phew I feel better now, it always throws me off when he is home an extra day. Okay now the day can proceed..

All silliness aside I hope you all had a great Holiday Weekend. I know rain dampened a lot of campers here in the Pacific Northwest this past weekend, I do hope you had sun and fair weather for your Holiday Plans...

Poor Husband of Wonder was working on a Bowl in his shop Sunday when he heard a cracking noise..What happened next was not a pretty picture, he punched out the bowl..Yes with his fist, so male..hehehe.. No I don't think it was funny that this beautiful bowl cracked while he was turning it, but punching out the bowl, come on now..I get this picture in my mind of a six foot four year old throwing a tantrum and that is a funny picture. I know how long he has been working on this design and how he must have felt when it cracked, so many many hours gone. It's just the picture in my mind of him squaring off with a Wooden Bowl, I guess it's good it couldn't punch back..hehe..Okay so I have had a moment or two like that too, and I'm sure it was funny at the time too..Like the time I was mad at my Ex and threw a coffee mug across the kitchen when he had stormed out..Now mind you this was my favorite mug, I threw it against the wall and the stupid thing did not break. Well of course that made me madder so I got the hammer out of the drawer and beat it to dust..I felt so much better then, very cathartic..Of course then I had to clean up the mess..and the only witnesses to my foolishness were my cats...

I did get a couple of things accomplished in the shop though, I managed to get three new pieces finished...I even got photos done and listed the pieces in my Etsy Shop this morning...I really like how they turned out.

The man who is trained as a fireman,

to save our lives, our homes from fire.

The first on scene when aid in need,

What's With Life Lately?

I'm sorry I haven't posted in almost two weeks now, Life just seemed to jump up and stick it's hand up in front of my face. Every time I turn around lately something else pops up to stop me from the things I want to do. If it's not something I have to do for the house or myself it is something for "Husband of Wonder". By the time I get through with everything I'm too pooped to go in the shop and work, or even go on my blog. Bad Me, Bad Me...Thirty lashes with a wet noodle.

I have even managed to load up eight pictures so far, need to get to work loading even more. If any of you have a Facebook page please post it in the comments. I know alot of you do and I would like to check them out and Fan them, so leave your link for me please!!!!!

Yesterday after picking up the mail I found another 6 pieces of Junk Mail telling me I need to pick a Drug Plan and Supplemental Health Insurance. Okay yes I'm old, Lord knows my body keeps screaming this at me but does the US Mail also have to scream at me too? Since I turn "65" ( oh god say it isn't so..ya fat chance)in October it seems I have to get all this Medicare Crap taken care of by the 1st of October.

I spent too much time on the computer yesterday checking all this out. Then I figured I needed to talk to someone, well that was another two hours but finally got some answers. Lord Youth is so much easier. Well at least now I know what I need and how much it is going to cost, that's something at any rate. I thought our Golden Years were suppose to be a Good Thing?

Well will get through this too!!!!!!

I did manage to finish the new Wedding Necklace this week and am going to post it in the Shop this evening. I've got another couple projects on my work table too that I need to finish so after I get off this computer I'm going to get to work. The World can just go away for the day. I need to be doing something creative I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms. hehe :-)

Okay I'm now going to turn this chair around and get some other pieces finished. Bless all of you, make some Pretties Today and by all means have FUN.....

I thought I would do something different today...As most of you know I have a couple of well behaved ( cough, sputter, hack) Felines that rule this roost....Yes they appear sweet and charming...more like Demon Spawn most times...But I do love them and can't imagine our house without the Little Imps...Prissy (Or Madame as we call her) a little Orange Tabby and Bitzy( anything but..she weighs 17 pounds..needs Weight Watchers) a beautiful Maine Coon Cat..If you are into Felines you should be able to relate to the pictures below...I thought these were great and would share the Wonderful World of Cats with Attitude...or as we call it Cattitude.....

A Wonderful New Friend

Coming home from some errands this morning I stopped and picked up the mail..Yay no bills :-) But seriously I found the most Beautiful Surprise in my box and it has just made my day...The past few days have been alittle stressed shall we say..."Husband of Wonder" hurt his back at work Friday and really messed it up good yesterday...He called and I set an appointment at the Chiropractors for him on his way home from work...Lesson: when you are stressed out your muscles get tight..don't try to manhandle getting a sub-floor out by brute strength...Yes if may help the stress but not the back...Men!!!! At any rate he is fine now and the Dr. said is back is fine...Whatever he popped out popped back in and he was better before he even got to the Dr...He came home and vented..got rid of the rest of the stress and is now fine...

Well back to the surprise I got today...The Beautiful Gloria who won my Mothers Day Giveaway Necklace had sent me a package...I thought.. "oh no something happened to one of the Hand Blown Glass Beads"...but no it wasn't that...Gloria sent me one of her Hand Painted Wooden Bangle Bracelets....When I opened the package and saw this all I could do was Smile....A nice warm glow came over me and I just wanted to hug someone or something...Gloria is one of the blogs I found during OWOH...a new Friend thanks to that Great Event....

My Pit of a Shop

It's been an interesting week here..The Weather has been so erratic, lots of rain and extremely high winds...Snowing again in the Mountain Passes..even Brat has had snow the past two mornings...Lord it is the 6th of May for crying out loud...Today is pretty here, suns out and I actually didn't need my jacket when I went to the Doctors this morning...Now if the sun will only stick around for awhile it would be great...My Doctor said I really looked better today, blood pressure sucks but I looked good...I'll go with the looks good, my blood pressure is always to low but as long as I'm still upright and moving I'll hang with that...At least it isn't high and that is good...My oldest Grandson is an EMT and the last time he asked me about my blood pressure it was like 60/50..he flipped out...He said don't you realize we take people to the Hospital for that low of a reading...Hell I never do anything the right way..more fun that way...TeeHee..

I did manage to get alittle work done in the shop this week...mainly making a mess of my work table...I still have a half finished piece sitting on my table I need to finish today sometime...Then I will need to clean up the work table so I can mess it up again....

I call this ordered chaos...but I do need to finish this piece and get things straightened up so I can move on to another piece..

Oh I almost forgot, go check out "Brats" Shop at the beautiful new pieces she just put up...I really love this Wire Wrapped Celtic Cross she made...I just love her work...

Well I know this is short but I do want to finish that piece and get something else started...A Bead show early tomorrow morning then Groceries, by the time I get back I will probably not feel like working..Friday errands always wear me out...Have a good day and go make something pretty...

A Path of Remembrance

As I sat in the Shop today working on another Wedding piece my mind started to wander back to what was and what is soon to be...I found myself with tears rolling down my face...No they were not really sad tears just fond memories tears...I was thinking about my oldest Grandson John"s up coming Wedding in September..When did this little boy grow up? Was I sleeping or does the world move just that fast...I still see him running around with his Grandpa playing Ghost Buster at the age of two...Damn they grow so quickly...

I thought about my Beautiful Daughter and when I held her for the first time...She was so tiny ( was a preemie) and had this lovely soft Red Hair and Glacial Blue eyes...I remember looking into her eyes and thinking about the first time she would hold her first born..Strange I know but then I'm not the most normal person around I guess...Now the end of this month she and my son-in-law will celebrate their 24th Wedding Anniversary...24 years and four kids later she is still my Little Girl aka "Brat"...

I thought about my other of Fantastic Grandchildren...Viv our own "Diva" off in Ireland living her dreams...Of course in my minds eye she is still this little bundle of energy getting "Strawberry Jam" from her Grandpa...No not the kind you eat but a Special Hug that only Grandpa can give..even at the age of 21 she still needs her "Strawberry Jam"..She has had her Papa wrapped since the day she was born and he can never tell her No.. Of course that also goes for her Mother he can't say No to her either ...At the age of 2 Viv announced she was going to be a star one day and she is working hard making those dreams come true...

And of course my Grandson Quinn...When my daughter told me what they named him the song "The Mighty Quinn" jumped into my mind...And yes he has always been that...But I still see him sitting in my Child's Rocker eating a Fudge Cycle out of a bowl and listening to Grandma's Music Boxes...He would so carefully bring me a Music Box so I could wind it for him and he would sit there and listen to the music, when the song ended he would put it back and get another and we would do it all over again...He has always loved Music and of course that continues to this day...Quinn plays a mean set of drums and I listen to him practice over the phone...He will be Graduating from High School next month then off to College in the Fall...He wants to get his degree in Teaching and be a High School Math Teacher...He is so good with kids and I know he'll be a Fantastic Teacher...And seeing this picture you can see why he is never without a Girlfriend...Lord I think he has had a Girlfriend since he was 11 or 12...Yes he is our very own "Stud Muffin"...Of course if he reads what I just wrote he'll just go "DUH"...

And last but never least we have Grandma's Miss Hannah...Hannah was our sweet Surprise 12 years ago...Her Mama called her "Sunshine Baby" and she was, she brought Sunshine to all our lives...She will be starting Jr. High in the Fall, at least we have a few more years before we have to worry about her heading off to College or marriage...Lord by the time that happens someone is going to be pushing me around in a Wheelchair and finding where I left my teeth...:-) Lord that is a depressing picture...hehe

I was also thinking about my Son, yes I have a Son...he is going to be 42 the end of this month...I know I don't talk about Bill but I do think about him and do Love him...I haven't heard from my son in over nine years...but I do wish him the best...This is a picture of him and my Daughter-in-law Kerry from Facebook...

Well that was the Path of My Remembrance today..And as you can see the tears weren't sorrowful, well not all of them anyway...I feel blessed and privileged to have watched my Grandchildren grow up..To see what a Fantastic Mother, Friend and Woman my Daughter is..And 25 years ago in September I married a very Special Man sent to me from God...Yes "Husband of Wonder"..A Little irritating at time ( but then so am I) but he is my Heart and Soul and always will be...So as you can see I have had a blessed life...And lots and lots of Happy Memories...

Prom Season Is Almost Here

When I was at the store the other day I heard this young girl talking to her Mother about the upcoming Prom..I went back in my mind and thought about mine...Yes that was a very long trip...:-) I remember like it was yesterday though..There were certain rules back in the early 60's.. If you were going to a Jr. Prom you could only wear cocktail length dresses..Very soft and very Feminine..Here are a few examples of Cocktail Gowns we would wear in 1961 and 1962..Mine was a beautiful Red Chiffon with a Grecian Style top and of course the full skirt..Lord we owned so many Crinoline under skirts...My father use to get so tired of getting up in the morning and finding 6 Crinolines laid out in perfect circles on the Rec-room floor drying from the night before...We didn't use starch that was to scratchy so we soaked them in Knox Gelatine..got them nice and stiff and didn't scratch..You had to do this every night because if you were wearing a full skirt to school that day you had to be prepared...

Senior Prom was the only one you were allowed to wear a Long Ball Gown too..whether it was your Prom or your Boyfriend's Prom...The first Sr. Prom I went to was at the Univ of Washington when I was a Jr. in High School..The Boy I was seeing at the time was a Sr at UW and boy did I think I was hot stuff...Thank God I looked older than my years and didn't look like some little kid playing dress-up..This is a picture like the one I wore that Great Night..Mine was a soft white with all those beautiful embroidered flowers on it...I remember I saved for months to be able to afford the dress..I bought it at Bests Apparel a expensive Store in downtown Seattle...I loved that dress..And of course here you had long crinolines under it...No wonder the front seat of cars had to be so big in those days..we had to have room for our skirts..hehe.. For my own Sr. Prom I made a beautiful Pink Brocade Strapless gown..My brother actually bought the material for me as a Christmas present..I thought that was so sweet for a guy to think of that...

Back then too all Proms had a Theme..generally the title of a Song that was very popular at the time...Always something soft and romantic...I remember my Jr. Prom was "Blue Moon" by the Miracles

My Sr. Prom Theme was "Blue Velvet" by Bobby Vinton...

My school had something going for love songs with Blue in the title..Maybe because our school colors were Columbia Blue and Gold...

Well enough of the memories from my youth..but it was a grand time and they are Sweet Memories...A Year after my Sr. Prom I was a Military Wife, expecting my "Brat" and worrying about my Ex having to possibly go to Viet Nam...All of that seems life a lifetime ago and I guess it was...For all of you who have Daughters and Grand-Daughters that will be off to their first Prom think back and remember yours and the Sweet Boy who you were with...The smile on your face will just leave everyone wondering what you are thinking about....Enjoy....

It's Monday and the start of a new week...I have been sitting here in the shop working and this song keeps popping into my head...It's Monday so what a better Song to start the day...

When this song became popular I was already chasing a two year old and had another on the way..Ah those were the days, youth, dirty diapers, swollen feet what more could any woman ask for...Ya I know but I never found the Magic Genie in the bottle to grant those 3 wishes...

Great Weekend Expensive But Great

Yes that is suppose to be me spending money...only wish I had that figure..lol That was how I spent Saturday..spending LOTS of money on Beads...Rings & Things had one of their Tour Shows here in Bellevue this past Saturday...I kept telling myself that I couldn't afford to go..then "Husband of Wonder" says let's go..God love that man of mine...When we got there they handed me a tray and Husband said he'd carry it for me...I told him he would be carrying one of his own too...All I got was Okay...I told him one was for the Findings that are retail price and the other for the strands of Bead that are all 50% off..plus we got another 15% off the entire purchase...Now how can you beat that for a sale...It took me about 45 minutes to rape those tables of Strands..hehe..."Husband of Wonder" even pick out some great choices he thought I would like...he has a good eye...Once I got back home I set about dividing up the Beads so I could send them to the "Brat"...I also found her 10 36" strands of chips for her work...Here are pictures of all the loot I came home with...Yes I can't wait to play with all these Fantastic Beads...The only thing I didn't get pictured were the 12 semi precious Pendant Stones I got...

As you can see this is why I'm itching to get to work on some of these Lovelies..."Brats" package went off this morning and she should have them by Wednesday....

Well that piece that has been rattling around my head it is now a piece...I will get it's good pictures taken tomorrow and listed...I was going to to a WIP the other day on this piece but got busy so here it is..start to finish about 30 minutes ago...I'm really pleased with this Wedding piece or Prom...It is all made with 8mm White Swarovski Pearls, 8mm Crystal Bicones, 8mm Blush Pink Bicones and some small silver filigree bead caps..It all closes with a stunning Sterling Push Clasp....

This is the first part..small Freshwater pearls and 4mm crystals..I then remodeled it to look like this....Today I finished making the strands and threading them through the Star Burst....Let me know what you think...I value all your opinions...

Well I guess it is time to stop all this and go fix dinner..."Husband of Wonder" will soon be home and hungry...Yes I know so what else is new...Happy creating all....
